Developing Teams
Facilitating senior leadership teams requires deep trust with the leader, an understanding of the team’s context and an ability to shine light on how a team’s behaviours may help or hinder organisational progress.
I bring a Gestalt-based approach to facilitation. This means working creatively to uncover the ‘unsaid’ in a group, to help the team see beyond their blind-spots and to provide tools to move swiftly into healthy debate.
With the increasing need to create truly interconnected systems, leaders need to put more focus on the ‘skills of partnership’ across all parts of their organisation & on actively creating psychologically safe environments where all people can do their best work together.
Emma can help senior teams:
Form: Top team formation & accelerated performance
Re-think: Help leaders in an overloaded fast-moving world to re-think how they operate
Partner: Build organizational agility through creating partnerships, internally with other leaders & externally with customers and stakeholders
‘‘Emma contributed enormously to the development of the team. She has a practical hands-on approach and can read any situation and dynamics in a room, adjusting her approach accordingly. Her inclusive process, focusing on concrete outcomes, resulted in significantly higher team performance.’’
Damien Ryan - Head of Finance, Coca-Cola Europe
Developing Leaders
Leadership does not come with a title or position - it comes with having the courage to act and the consciousness to know what is needed.
I design immersive experiential leadership development solutions that increasingly involve mixing virtual, in-person and group experiences. The key is to make the learning helpfully disruptive (to create change on the level of mindset as well as skillset) and practically relevant (so leaders are actively experimenting with applying their new skills to real challenges).
I am increasingly interested in creating leader-led, people-powered change involving leaders at all levels of an organisation.
Leadership Development with Emma will:
Provide an active rather than theoretical learning process
Create tangible shifts in behaviours and attitudes
Will be designed to build the type of leadership that your future strategy depends on
‘‘The work with Emma was one of the most satisfying and thought-provoking leadership development experiences I have had. The focus on solving an external challenge, rather than a singular focus on personal and corporate introspection, was a welcome change. I love her honesty, good humour and the challenge she brings to all of us.’’

Developing Facilitators
There is a distinct difference between facilitating a meeting process & creating a dynamic learning experience through skilfully interweaving psychological theories of behavioural change with in-the-moment interventions.
I am increasingly asked to run facilitator training for fellow practitioners and for coaches who want to shift from 1-1 work to group facilitation. In addition, I notice that in today’s world in which traditional hierarchical organisational structures are being challenged and the paradigm of leader as expert is becoming obsolete, a new kind of leadership is badly needed.
We need leaders who have the know-how to create genuinely empowered cultures where rapid innovation can flourish. We need ‘Leaders as Facilitators’. Facilitation training is therefore aimed at Practitioners and Leaders alike.
Facilitation training with EMC enables:
Practitioners: to work skilfully ‘in the moment’ to illuminate group dynamics, to create the conditions for healthy group change & to develop creative ways to work with the most cynical of teams
Leaders: to learn what it means to be ‘leader as facilitator’; to develop the skills to enable true agency in their people and to create the agile, creative cultures of tomorrow.
‘‘Emma is a master facilitator. She skilfully enables a heartfelt conversation and a visible awakening in the team. I’ve now witnessed expert facilitation and working with virtual tools at its best.’’
Melissa Craig - Group Head of Digital Messaging, Experience & Sales, Wealth & Personal Banking, HSBC
